Separatists, Mainstream condemn youth’s killing

Srinagar: Separatists and mainstream politicians have condemned the killing of Rafiabad, Baramulla youth, allegedly killed by security forces on Friday evening and were demanding to punish the culprits.  Ashiq Hussain Rather was killed in his native village Lasser around 8.30 pm, Friday, when soldiers patrolling through the village shot at him, his relatives said.


While  condemning  the killing of Rafiabad youth, Hurriyat Conference (M) said, “On one side state government is making tall claims to revoke the black laws like AFSPA and PSA and on other armed forces are using as a blanket in order to kill innocent Kashmiris like Ashiq.”


In another condemnation statement Hurriyat Conference (G) called the Ashiq’s killing as a ‘brutal’ act by the security forces and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. They also demanded impartial probe to punish the killers.


Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and president Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah has condemned the killing and told Agence India Press that he would visit the place tomorrow.


Chairman All Sikh Coordination Committee Jagmohan Singh Raina also condemned the killing and demanded punishment for culprits.


Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) and president of Anjuman-e-Sharia Shiyaan Agha Syed Hassan Almosavi Alsafi also condemned the killing and termed it as brutal and inhuman act.


Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has strongly condemns the killing.  “It is a worst kind of barbarism and aggression,” he told Agence India Press.

National Front Chairman. Nayeem hmad Khan in a statement said , “If forces would have been made accountable they would never have gathered courage to kill yet another innocent Youth at Lasser Rafiabad.”


JKPL Chairman, Mukhtar Waza has expressed sympathy with the family of the deceased boy and said, “The sacrifices and blood of Kashmiris will bear fruit and the clouds of oppression and tyranny will make way to the dawn of liberation.”


Describing it very unfortunate, the killing of Ashiq Hussain a youth from Lasser Rafiabad, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has said that such tragic incidents not only shatter the faith of people in democratic system but also create a sense of insecurity among them kind.

Expressing sympathies with the family of Ashiq Hussain, Mehbooba said that ordering of inquiries in such unfortunate incidents seems to have become a routine affair without yielding any result for the victims or their families.

PDP General Secretary Mohammed Dilawar Mir also condemned the killing and accused the present regime of having lost count of the number of youth that have got killed during the last three years of their tenure. He further expressed his heart felt sympathies with the family. (AIP News)
