Kashmir: Army rejects any firing by its troops

Srinagar: The Army denies firing by any of its officers or men on Thursday, 05 January 2012 anywhere on the National Highway. This was reported in the media with relation to some law and order problems at Delina, Baramula District in North Kashmir.

The statement to Agence India Press by Army spokesman have also clarify that it has received the best cooperation of the local people in facilitating the move of its convoys.

It has taken pro-active steps to reduce the density of military traffic and leave the highway for the public at peak traffic time, they said.

Army is ensuring that the sentiments of the locals are fully respected with relation to their democratic rights. Allegations of firing by Army soldiers are the handiwork of inimical elements and the locals is fully aware of this. (AIP News)
