Congress forgets paying visit to Former CM’s tomb

Srinagar: On the death anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir last Prime Minister and former Chief Minister, Ghulam Muhammad Sadiq, no Congress leader paid the visit and tribute at his Mausoleum yesterday here in Srinagar, whose condition continuous to be in abysmal and craves for attention.
Ghulam Muhammad Sadiq, a senior congress leader died on 12th December in the year 1971.
On his death anniversary to paid tribute to this great leader, the Congress party celebrated his death anniversary at the Banquet hall, here in Srinagar. While no leader bothered to visit at his graveyard and paid floral tribute to this leader.
Talking to Agence India Press, Vice-President, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress party, Muhammad Muzaffar Parray, said, ‘congress leaders celebrated a function at Banquet hall, were we paid floral tribute to the Ghulam Muhammad Sadiq. He (Sadiq) has rendered a great sacrifice for the development of the state.”
When asked him why has not congress leaders paid visit at his grave today, he said, “Congress have no banks and we paid him tribute at Banquet hall. It was not necessary to paid visit at his mausoleum, but best way is to take his policies ahead. We believe in practical approach and are committed to realize the dream of Sadiq.”
Parray also criticizes the National Conference party, who paid tribute to Sheikh Abdullah recently on his death anniversary at his grave, said, “It is only National Conference who paid tribute to Sheikh Abdullah recently and fought to each other that day. Even Farooq Abdullah and Mustafa Kamal went separately to paid tribute to Sheikh Abdullah at his Mausoleum on his death anniversary. It was all lavish to paid tribute at the Mausoleum, when they National Conference are not united and are not able to accomplish the dream of Sheikh Abdullah.”
“Congress believes on practical approach not on hollow slogans,” claims Parray.
When this reporter visited the Mausoleum of Ghulam Muhammad Sadiq, the place around the tomb was in shambles condition. Heavy nettle plants have grew up around the mausoleum and the tomb was hiding under it. Heaps of garbage were lying around his grave and were emanating stench smell.
Local of the Batamaloo area believes that this great leader of the state deserves a great respect by developing his Mausoleum like other late leaders.
Replying to a question that the Mausoleum of the late Chief Minister continuous to be in abysmal, Muzaffar Parray, said, “What will happen if we establish a mausoleum of Sadiq Sahab like Sheikh Abdullah. It will bear no fruits to the state. Congress is committed to realize the dream of Sadiq for the development of the state, which will make his soul happy.”
However a senior worker of Congress party contested the claims of Parray. On the conditions of anonymity, he said, “The Congress party celebrated the death anniversary of Sadiq Sahab only to spend the money earmarked to celebrate his death anniversary. No one bothered from the Congress party today to pay him real respect by visiting his graveyard.” (AIP News)
