‘PDP always playing spoil sport, exposed’

Srinagar: Coming down heavily on People’s Democratic Party, Former minister and senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil, on Saturday accused it of ‘destabilizing’ successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir State merely to ‘grab the power.’
Addressing the party convention at Ganderbal, Vakil accused PDP for playing a ‘spoil sport’ in the state politics and said, “It (PDP) destabilized various governments beginning from that of Sheikh Abdullah to Farooq Abdullah and finally Ghulam Nabi Azad, that has adversely affected the political atmosphere.”
Vakil alleged that ‘PDP being a power hungry party never wants to see democratically an elected representative to perform in the state and it was because of this political maneuverings that people were the worst sufferers.’
He said that PDP was still putting in its efforts to create an ‘uncertainty which was aimed at destabilizing coalition, merely to grab the power.’
“PDP had always ditched its partners merely to stay in power and now there are no takers of PDP’s moves which are trying to establish in the political arena of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“Had PDP not withdrawn its support from Ghulam Nabi Azad government, political situation in the state would have been altogether different,” asserted Vakil.
The policies introduced by Ghulam Nabi Azad, senior Congress leader said were aimed at socio- economic, political and infrastructural development of the state, which were left midway.
“The blunder committed by PDP was the main reason behind stagnated developmental activities in the state,” he claims.
Senior congress leader asked chief minister Omar Abdullah to check rampant corruption in the state.
He said, rising corrupt practices in various government departments was alienating masses which was not in the interest of coalition government. (AIP News)
