Jammu: Staging candle light protest demonstration in Rajouri against Power Development Department and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, Bhartiya Janta Party activists have said that Minister of State for Power and CAPD has completely failed to provide power and ration facility to the people of Rajouri district and residents especially Muslim community who are fasting in the month of Ramdan and government had promised them better power and ration facilities in the month.
Addressing gathering after activists hold march towards Bus Stand with Candle and Lantrin, State Secretary of BJP Advocate Vibodh Gupta has said that state government failed to provide basic facilities to the common masses especially Muslims of Rajouri during the month of Ramdan.
He said that government has promised about no curtailment of power during Nimaz and Tarawai but Muslims of Rajouri are openly taking to the streets against Minister of State for Power for his failure about providing uninterrupted power supply during Ramdan.
He said that this speaks about the volume of the sincerity of the public representative regarding public issues. He added that this the festival season of Hindus and Muslims as besides Ramdan, there is Budha Amarnath Yatra and Raksha Bandhan at anvil but PDD is not heeding towards the problem of any community.
Advocate Gupta also launched attack on the CAPD saying that the department is black marketing all ration of the poor people and nobody in villages have get ration during this month till date.
He said that both these departments are under the control of one man who has failed on all fronts to provide the people basic amenities.
Meanwhile District President Yogesh Sharma also lambasted the government for not taking any action against PDD and CAPD officials who are showing dull performance in Rajouri.
He said that people will come to the streets in future also if both these departments will not rectify the problems of the people. (AIP)
