Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday called for ‘peaceful protests’ after Friday prayers against the killing of a man in a fake encounter Poonch region.
In a statement issued here for the media, Hurriyat chairman said, “I urge people to protests peacefully against the killing of man in Poonch, Nizam Rashid’s death in police custody, and the recent arrest of youth during nocturnal raids in Old City.”
Geelani has also asked people to pray for freedom after the Friday congregational prayers on August 13 (AIP).
