Security Review meeting held in Jammu

Srinagar: A security review meeting for Railways in Jammu division was held at Jammu which was presided over by Deputy Inspector General of Railway Security Ashok Kumar Atri., a police statement said here.
The spokesperson said that during the meeting a detailed discussion about the security of Railway Stations and Railway Track was held. SSP GRP Jammu presented a brief note of the present security scenario of the Railway security. He presented the detailed deployment plan before the DIG Railways. The security of the Railway stations and Railway track was also discussed in details.
During the discussion, SSP GRP Jammu said that X-Ray machine is being installed in Railway Station to check the baggage of the passengers and no one is allowed to move without X-ray check despite the heavy rush of passengers in Jammu Railway Station.
DIG Railway assured that GRP personnel accommodation issue shall be taken with chief engineer (construction) Railway for speedy completion of under construction building so that their stay could be made comfortable.
According to the statement, SSP GRP also asked for the provision of fire tenders and ambulances at all the Railway Stations. DIG Railways advised SSP GRP Jammu to take up these issues with concerned quarters locally and at his own level. SSP GRP told that the CCTV installed in the Railway Station Jammu is very useful for the GRP.
During the meeting Dr. Usha Kher also raised the point for the accommodation for women police personnel performing duties at the Railway Stations. On this DIG directed SSP GRP to make proper arrangements for them.
It further said that DIG Railway asked SSP GRP Jammu to brief all the GRP personnel to perform their duties as per the SOP issued by Railway Head Quarters. He also asked all the SDPOs to prepare a contingency plan so as to avoid any confusion in case of any contingency. 1 dies, 21 injured in road mishaps. (AIP)
