Srinagar: President Minority cell PDP, Ashok Bhatt in a statement issued here has said, that the NC led coalition government has completely failed to deliver the goods on the ground for Kashmiri pandits for both sections whether migrants or non migrants.
The centre has provided huge funds for rehabilitating the Kashmiri pandits shifting migrants to Jagti Township Nagrota Jammu and PM employees’ package. But due to lackadaisical attitude of the present government both the packages failed.
The buildings have posed a threat to life of the migrant’s residents due to cracks on floor and walls which indicates the use of sub standard material for the construction of buildings. It has created a panic among the residents of the Jagti Township, who are risking their lives while staying in these buildings. Beside there is a serious shortage of water and electricity in the township.
Almost 1765 employees were recruited under the PM package, but some of the employees have not received their regular salaries from last six months. Nor the present government has provided the proper accommodation. The employees are facing serious problems because of financial crisis. Terming the implementation of the PM package a complete failure, Mr. Ashok said, the government is not serious to resolve the pending issues and such tactics are a cruel joke on our part.
Agence India Press receive the statement were he also highlighted that migrant employees who left from the valley in 1989-90 , their service record, seniority list ,promotion and other vital data is not maintained which could cause a serious repercussions on the service of the employee. The employees are facing huge problems; very often the department didn’t recognize them as govt employee, as the data regarding their service is not updated in the valley. “If not taken care of this issue by the government, then at the time of retirement, it could become a hurdle in the release of pensions and other emoluments” Said Ashok.
Ashok raised the issue that Non migrant Kashmiri Pandits have been also denied the access to PM package right from Deve Gowda to Present PM. “It was only during Mufti Mohd Sayeed Government that non-migrant KP’s has been treated well. He appointed 142 KP’s in different government departments” said, Ashok.
The present state government is hell bend to dislodge KP’s from their ancestral homes. They are trying to fetch a heinous scheme to uproot the left over KP’s in the valley by asking them to show interlay displaced certificate from relief organization in Jammu for demanding job or coverage under PM package.
So many times we echoed our concerns to the government but they didn’t pay any heed to our demands. Instead of showing concerns for the minority section, the government is trying to muzzle our voice at each step. (AIP)
