Jammu: West Assembly Jammu Movement President Sunil Dimple threatened the Government to start “Jan Andolan” from January 9 against the constant prices hikes in the state.
While addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Jammu he said that the UPA Government has failed to control over the prices hikes in the state.
Sunil Dimple appealed the state Government especially the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to raise this matter with the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
He alleged the State government that sub standard adulterated, essential commodities like petrol and diesel are being sold in the markets; CAPD department is watching all this as silent spectators. The shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas has leaded the people in distress. The shopkeepers and the other party’s are selling half filled; underweight cylinders to the consumers.
Sunil Dimple appealed the government to open Sale Outlet Counter for the sale of essential commodities like Pulses, Edible Oils, Sugar, Flour and Rice should be available on the ration depots at subsidized rates. He alleged food and supplies department for non availability of these essential commodities and the black marketing of kerosene oil in the markets.
He appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, M.P’s, M.L.A.s of the state to take stern action against the culprits. He said that the people who are coming under BPL are being ignored.
Dimple demanded the chief minister to constitute an inquiry committee which will look in to the matter.
Jammu West Assembly Movement has threatened the government that they will call for Jammu bandh on January 9, against the failure of government in control and in its failure to take effective steps to control the price hikes in the State.
