Srinagar: After his hectic schedule of Chandigarh, Kolkata, and New Delhi, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday said that all the attacks on him were planned and had state, centre patronage.
“All the attacks were organised and carried out with a proper planning. The five months long struggle by Kashmiri people have made such agents speechless and now they want to dub this struggle movement as communal and give it a colour of terrorism,” while addressing a news conference at party headquarters, Rajbagh after his arrival in Valley this afternoon.
“We are the representatives of Kashmiri people and not of India or Pakistan. We want to give the realm picture of the valley and its people outside, because they can play a vital role in pressuring the so called democratic power like India,” Mirwaiz who was flanked by party executive member and Chairman People’s Conference Bilal Gani Lone said.
Farooq’s vehicle was attacked by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists and some Kashmiri Pandits when he was going to address a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC) on Tuesday.
Castigating New Delhi for its attempts to ‘malign’ the ‘indigenous’ freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir, Mirwaiz termed the Qamarwari shootout ‘fake’.
According to Agence India Press correspondent, Mirwaiz said, efforts are being made to give a different color to the indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmiris. First, it was said that the pro-freedom groups have links with militants. Now, stonepelters and militants are being linked to defame our peaceful struggle.
“Three of our innocent youth have been killed in fake encounter,” he said, in a reply to a question about the Qamarwari shootout.
