Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday promised to take action against those involved in the June 29 killing of three youths in Anantnag town.
“I have received the preliminary enquiry report about the Anantnag incident in which precious human lives have been lost and action will be taken accordingly,” Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told a meeting of prominent residents in the district town, 55 km from here.
Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah today chaired a meeting of the prominent residents of district Anantnag here to get feedback about the recent incidents as also suggestions from the citizens to maintain peace and order.
“I am here to listen to you and get first hand information about the events that caused law and order problem and resulted into loss of lives” he said adding that such interactions are aimed at getting the view points of the civil society to address law and order issues more effectively.
“In my similar meetings with the citizens of Srinagar and Baramulla I heard the suggestions and feelings of the people”, he said maintaining that the government would consider these positively to smoothen the law and order machinery.
The Chief Minister said that he has received the preliminary enquiry report about the Anantnag incident in which precious human lives have been lost and action will be taken accordingly.
Responding to the development demands raised by some of the participants in the meeting, the Chief Minister said that District Development Board meeting will be held soon to address the development issues and finalize the annual plan. “I will myself discuss development with you when I visit here again”, he said adding that present interaction session has been held to interact about the measures required to avoid law and order problems.
The speakers in the meeting, besides giving suggestions for maintenance of peace, also talked about developmental issues pertaining to Anantnag district. They also stressed on enforcing restraint over security forces while dealing with public demonstrations.
